Grandma Ritchie
My dear grandma Ritchie passed away a few hours ago. For those of you who are waiting to view proofs from this past week/weekend, it might take me a few extra days to finish them up. Keep our family in your prayers. Will update more when I am given more info.

Parade Magazine!
I will be having my very first picture published this coming weekend in Parade Magazine! So excited! It is a photo that I got of the boys last spring while playing fetch at the pond. For those of you who aren't familiar with Parade, it is a national magazine that goes out in the larger Sunday papers in the nation. You should have see this house when I got the letter yesterday! We all jumped for joy! Mom and I celebrated with sharing an entire bottle of South African Champagne, the guys had their own concoction, then we all camped out in the backyard in below freezing temperatures! Sounds a little goofy, I know, but we did have a good time. (Even though the boys kept taking all of the blankets!)

Motor GP

this past weekend was the motor GP in Indy. Mom, Wessel, and Robbie were down there for the whole weekend. Corey and I made it down for Sunday. WOW, what a rush! Those bikes were amazing! We left early Sunday on the bike and headed out with it already raining. Most of the way there was in the rain and then once we got to Indy, it stopped... but not for long. The remnants of hurricane Ike came rushing in about 1:00 and it raining for a few hours, but the wind was nuts! It literally blew mom and I over at one point into the bleachers. 40 mph steady winds with 60 mph gusts and those bikes kept going! After the race, we ad to brave the storm on the bikes to get back home. That was quite the adventure. I thought the wind was just going to blow us right on over a few times. Getting aout of Indy was a challenge since the wind had knocked several trees down into power lines and on tree onto a couple of people this we heard from a local police man. But we made it back home and have quite a story to tell. If any of you enjoy Nascar and have never been to one of these races, I strongly encourage you to go just once. It was a blast!

105th celebration
What a day! Sat. we were in Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson 105th Aniv. celebration. We were had parade passes to ride in the parade with 7500 other bikes and that by far was the highlight! Sat. night we had VIP tickets for Bruce Springstien and he played for 3 1/2 hours!!! He put on an amazing show! Overall the trip was great but I was ready to get out of all of the crowds! There was probably 700,000 to 1,000,000 bikes in that town. Every single spot of hard ground was covered with bikes. It didn't matter if it was a fountain, steps, sidewalk, center islands... they were everywhere! We even saw Phil from "The Deadliest Catch" at the concert. he ran right into Wessel's back. I thought Mr. B was going to turn around and knock him to the ground until he realized who it was, then he couldn't even talk! I was pretty funny! Here is a slide show to show a few pics of the day.
